Pride Mobility has a wide range of mobility scooters, from basic portable powerchairs to powerful class 3 scooters with all the bells and whistles. The Go-Chair belongs to the portable powerchair group; however, it is anything but basic. In fact, it sets a whole new standard with its stylish design, complete with a choice of 10 colours, and its improved specs, like its maximum driver weight, which is 136kg (21st 6lbs).
At only 97lbs (without the battery pack) its light enough to transport by car. It also disassembles into five parts, making it easy to fit into the boot of your car. You can remove the battery pack to charge it while the rest of the compact chair is stored out of the way.
It manoeuvres well in tight spaces and its 8” tyres give it extra stability. Its maximum range on a full charge is 13.2 miles and its maximum speed is 3.7mph. It’s not suitable for outdoor travel but it comes into its own on flat indoor surfaces.
Some of the Go-Chair’s features include:
- Comfortable stadium-style seat
- Flip-back, adjustable armrests (width and height)
- Two under-seat storage bins
- 60” lap belt
- Large footplate
- 2 x 18Ah 12V batteries
- Battery weight: 28lbs
- Total length: 33”
- Total width: 22.5”

Mobility scooter insurance isn’t compulsory but it is the best way to protect your independence from theft, vandalism, and accidental damage. Ask your insurance provider if hire costs are part of the policy. That way you can hire a mobility scooter to tide you over while yours is out of commission.
